LightOne

The operating system with native AI

AI at the core of the operating system.

LightOne leverages AI, being a native AI operating system. It works across applications the way a person does, and every action it takes is permitted, visible and recorded. The changes it makes can be undone.

The LightOne desktop with its taskbar and assistant button

Native AI

An assistant in the desktop itself, not an app on top. It finds information, opens applications and documents, and carries tasks through.

Governed agents

Each AI agent holds only the permissions it is given and asks before it saves or deletes. The changes it makes can be undone.

A record of every action

What AI agents do is written to a hash-chained history that reveals any later change, ready for review.

Secure foundation

Written in Rust from the kernel up, a memory-safe language that prevents whole classes of security flaws.

Native AI

An assistant that does the work, within the rules you set.

Press Win+C and describe the task. LightOne Assistant searches the web, reads pages, writes documents and opens the applications it needs. A trail of light on the screen shows where it is working, and each step appears as it happens.

Choose the model that fits your policies: leading commercial AI providers, or models you run on your own hardware. Keys are typed into the operating system's own secure prompt and are never shown to applications.

  1. RequestYou describe the task in your own words.
  2. PermissionThe system checks what this agent is allowed to read, write and open.
  3. ApprovalBefore a change, you confirm it on the window it affects.
  4. ActionThe assistant works in the apps, visibly, step by step.
  5. RecordEach step joins the tamper-evident history, and its changes can be undone.

Who it is for

Built for organizations that need AI they can trust.

Enterprises

  • Put AI to work without losing control: permissions per agent, approval for changes, and a record of every step.
  • Credentials stay with the system. Passwords and API keys are entered in a secure prompt that applications cannot read.
  • Know where software comes from. Package signatures are checked before installation, a changed package is refused, and updates must come from the same publisher.
  • A familiar desktop with Start, a taskbar and windows, so there is little to learn.

Governments and the public sector

  • Sovereign choice of AI: approved providers, or models hosted on your own infrastructure.
  • A memory-safe codebase in Rust, one of the languages national cybersecurity agencies now recommend.
  • Accountable automation. Every agent action is recorded in a history that shows tampering and can be reviewed.
  • An independent stack written from published standards: kernel, networking, TLS 1.3 encryption and the web engine.

People, schools and small teams

  • Help that does the work, not only answers: the assistant opens apps and completes tasks.
  • Mistakes are reversible. Any change the assistant makes can be undone from Agent history.
  • Complete from the start: an office and creative suite, a web browser, mail, files and media.
  • Separate accounts with passwords and a lock screen.

Security by design

Trust is part of the system, not an add-on.

Memory-safe kernel

The kernel, drivers, network stack and apps are written in Rust.

Least-privilege agents

A manifest states what each agent may read, write and start. Nothing else is open to it.

Approval where it matters

Confirmations are drawn by the system on the affected window, above every app, so no app can fake them.

Tamper-evident history

Agent actions form a hash chain, and can be checked against a separate witness copy.

Isolated secrets

Passwords and keys live in a store that no program may read.

Verified software

Signatures are checked before installation. Changed packages, older versions and updates from another publisher are refused.

Contained failures

A program that crashes is stopped on its own, and the system carries on.

Account protection

Passwords, a lock screen, and a lockout after repeated failed attempts.

The OS

A complete desktop, drawn by LightOne itself.

Start, the taskbar, windows that snap, several desktops, quick settings and notifications. Everything people expect from a desktop, with AI built in. And it is portable: it can start without being installed, and installs to the computer's own disk when you choose.

Included

The apps to get work done.

The ArtCraft suite comes with LightOne: documents, spreadsheets, presentations, page layout, photo editing, vector and CAD drawing, video, audio, effects, photo management and PDF tools. Alongside it, the system's own apps: a web browser with a reading view, mail, files, terminal, notes, paint, photos, media player, PDF reader, calculator and task manager.

The twelve ArtCraft apps open on LightOne: WordCraft, GridCraft, DeckCraft, DesignCraft, PhotoCraft, VectorCraft, CadCraft, FilmCraft, SoundCraft, EffectCraft, LightCraft and PdfCraft
